FAQ FOOD, RESTAURANT and HOSPITALITY PHOTOGRAPHY

Do you photograph the restaurant’s environment as well, or just the dishes?
I photograph the dishes, create images with models simulating happiness while dining at your restaurant, capture the décor, and, if time allows, also photograph the chef, the owner, and the team, either individually or together.

I’ve had experiences where the photos looked great but didn’t represent the reality of what we serve. How do you balance that?
In my restaurant photo sessions, I only use the real ingredients that go into each dish. I don’t rely on tricks like paint, glue, hairspray, or lipstick. This ensures authenticity in every image. Additionally, during the planning phase, I align with restaurants on the style they want to achieve, so the photos look beautiful while staying true to the restaurant’s atmosphere and the reality of what is served to customers.

How long does it take to deliver the photos?
Seven business days. All photos are edited in Photoshop and delivered via a download link.

Do you offer monthly packages for social media and hospitality?
Yes, I do. Monthly packages are often more cost-effective than one-off sessions.

What kind of adjustments do you make to enhance the images? Are there any limitations?
All photos are professionally edited in Photoshop, which includes adjustments for lighting, color, brightness, contrast, perspective, angles, and cleaning any imperfections. This is the standard editing I offer for most restaurant sessions. If you need additional edits like inserting or removing items, color changes, or merging two or more images, that is considered advanced editing and comes with an additional cost.

Do you also make short videos alongside the photos?
Unfortunately, I can’t photograph and film simultaneously, especially when working with real food. Food loses its freshness and appeal quickly, so it’s not feasible to shoot both at the same time. However, I work with partners who can create Reels, Tik Toks, and behind-the-scenes videos for your restaurant.

Can we combine photos of dishes and the team on the same day for hospitality? I want to create a complete content package, including our dishes, drinks, and portraits of the chefs and staff.
Yes, we can plan everything for the same day.

We are a hotel here in Adelaide. Do you provide licensing for the photos?
Certainly. The licensing is customized to suit your needs.

Do you help with ideas for the photos?
Yes. During the planning phase, we discuss styles, compositions, and the message you want to convey to your customers. I’ll then present ideas that align best with your goals and your restaurant’s identity.

Do you have experience with our type of cuisine and audience?
Yes! Back in Brazil, over nine years, I photographed more than 970 restaurants. In Adelaide, over the past seven months, I’ve worked with around 30 restaurants, some of which are similar to yours. I believe I have the experience needed to meet your needs.

Do you guide us on how to use the photos effectively on social media?
Absolutely! I even provide suggestions and strategies to help you maximize the return on this investment.

Do you photograph drinks or dishes in action? For example, a waiter serving wine or steam rising from a freshly prepared dish?
Yes, I do.

Do you take photos for delivery platforms like Uber Eats and DoorDash?
Yes, I have experience with that. For almost four years, I worked with the largest food delivery app in Brazil, so I know exactly what kind of photos work best for these platforms.

What if the photoshoot coincides with a busy time at the restaurant?
There are three options: you can choose a day when the restaurant is less busy, schedule the shoot for a day when the restaurant is closed, or we can proceed during a busy time by dedicating a separate space for the shoot, away from customers.

Do you offer food styling services?
Yes and no. I provide guidance on how dishes should be presented for the photos, and I arrange the plates on the photography table to make them look clean and appealing. However, I don’t go into the kitchen to prepare each item as a food stylist would.

What sets you apart as a restaurant photographer?
I don’t believe in generic solutions. Each restaurant has its unique identity, and I work closely with you to ensure the photos reflect that—whether it’s cozy, sophisticated, or casual. Even when working with real food, I use specific techniques to capture textures, colors, and details that whet the appetite and connect with your audience. I specialize in food, beverage, and environment photography, with years of experience working with restaurants of various sizes and styles. I know how to highlight dishes, create engaging atmospheres, and convey each establishment’s unique concept. I adapt to your restaurant’s dynamics, whether it’s scheduling during less busy times or delivering photos quickly for urgent campaigns. Beyond photography, I offer consultancy to help create impactful visuals for different platforms, such as social media, digital menus, or delivery apps. I use advanced lighting techniques to ensure that even dimly lit restaurants have stunning photos while preserving the cozy ambiance. Each image I create tells your restaurant’s story—from the preparation of the dish to the smiles of your customers. I also capture professional portraits of your team, highlighting the human spirit behind your brand, which is excellent for branding. It’s not just about taking beautiful photos; it’s about helping you boost sales, attract customers, and establish a strong presence for your brand.

Will the images be of high enough quality to use in banners, billboards, or other campaigns?
All photos are delivered in high resolution. However, if you need them for large-scale formats, this should be specified during the planning phase. Large formats require additional attention to detail to ensure quality when displayed, such as on a billboard.

What if I’m unsure of what I want?
We can use market trends and your competitors as a reference. From there, we’ll work together to adapt the style to your business and create a clear direction.

Do you work with restaurants that host events?
Yes, I do.

I’m not photogenic. How can you help me?
That’s completely normal. Many people feel this way, but my job is to help you feel comfortable and confident. We’ll have a conversation and plan everything beforehand. On the day of the session, I use posing techniques that highlight your best angles and capture your true essence.

How long does a photo session last?
I offer options of 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or more, depending on your needs. I adjust the time to ensure we create high-quality images without rushing the process.

What should I wear for the portrait?
I recommend clothing that reflects your personality and aligns with your professional goals and positioning. I can also provide specific guidance prior to the session.

Do you offer makeup and hair services?
I don’t provide makeup or hair services, but I can recommend trusted professionals for you to hire before the session.

Can I bring accessories or personal items to the session?
Of course! Personal items can add a unique touch to your photos, especially if they hold meaning for the message you want to convey.

Where do you take the photos?
We can shoot at your workplace, in a studio, or in outdoor locations that best match your desired image.

How long does it take to receive the final photos?
The delivery time is 7 business days after the selection process, via online transfer.

Do you retouch the photos?
Yes, all images undergo standard professional editing in Photoshop, including adjustments for lighting, color, contrast, angles, perspective, and retouching to highlight your best features.

What if I don’t like the photos?
Before the session, we plan together and define the photography style that best communicates your intention. During the session, I’ll show you the photos as we go, and we can review and adjust together. If necessary, we can redo certain shots immediately to ensure your satisfaction.

Do you offer packages, or is it just a single session?
I also offer packages that include multiple sessions, ideal for those who need regularly updated content for social media or other platforms.

I don’t know how to pose for photos.
No problem! During the session, I’ll guide you with poses and expressions that convey confidence and professionalism.

Do you work with groups or only individual portraits?
I also work with groups.

Do you photograph at specific times?
Not at all. I offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate your routine.

Do you provide licensing for the photos?
Yes, the licensing can be customized to suit the intended use, whether commercial or personal.

Do you take photos for personal branding?
Absolutely. We work together to create images that reflect your personality, values, and mission—perfect for building your personal brand.

Can I bring multiple outfits for the session?
Yes, you can bring different outfit options, especially if you want photos with a variety of styles.

What sets your portraits apart?
I take the time to truly understand what you want and ensure that the photos reflect your personality while communicating your goals effectively.

Do you take photos for e-commerce?
Absolutely. My photos are optimized for e-commerce platforms, ensuring your products look clear, attractive, and professional.

What is the average time for a product photography session?
It depends on the number of items and their complexity. Typically, a session can last anywhere from a few hours to an entire day, depending on your needs.

Do you offer styling for the products?
Yes and no. I take care of all the details to ensure the product is clean, well-presented, and aligned with the desired aesthetics. If additional styling is needed, we can invite a professional stylist to join the session.

Do you take product photos with a white background?
Yes, a white background is one of the most popular options for e-commerce and catalogs. It ensures clarity and professionalism.

How does licensing work?
Licensing is tailored to your needs and granted according to the intended use you specify—such as social media, printed advertising campaigns, banners, national or global rights. This is outlined in the licensing agreement to ensure you know exactly how to use the photos legally and effectively.

I’d like photos of products in action or being used. Is that possible?
Yes, and this type of production is quite common. I can photograph products being used or in scenarios that demonstrate their functionality, including models in the scenes, to help tell the product’s story.

How long does it take to receive the final photos?
The delivery time is 7 to 10 business days, depending on the number of items and the complexity of the editing.

Do you retouch the photos? What type of retouching do you offer?
Yes. All photos receive standard professional retouching in Photoshop, including adjustments to lighting, color, brightness, contrast, and removal of minor imperfections. Advanced retouching, such as additional Photoshop work, incurs extra charges as it falls under advanced editing.

Can you also create short videos of the products?
I don’t produce videos during a photography session, but I can recommend professional partners who specialize in promotional videos for products.

Do you work with food products?
Yes, I have extensive experience with food products and know how to make them look appetizing and visually appealing.

Can we shoot in outdoor locations?
If the product concept requires an outdoor setting, yes, we can arrange a session at a suitable location.

How many products can you photograph in one session?
This depends on the complexity. Simple products can be photographed more quickly, while items requiring staging or detailed preparation may take more time.

Can you help decide the style of the photos?
Absolutely. During the planning phase, we discuss styles, colors, and compositions that best represent the product and your brand.

Do you take photos of products for advertising campaigns?
Certainly. After a detailed briefing and planning, I create images for ads, banners, magazines, and other promotional campaigns.

Can I combine product photos with lifestyle images in the same session?
Of course! We can mix different styles to create more comprehensive and appealing content. In this case, the session may require more production time than usual.

If I need photos on a regular basis, do you offer packages?
Yes, I have package options and can adapt them as needed to better serve you.
